Anxiety is a condition that is quite common among everyone. What vary are the intensity and the ability of the person to cope with it. Anxiety attacks are characterized by symptoms like dizziness, profuse sweating, uneasiness in the stomach, head ache, stiffness of muscles, a feeling of losing control, etc. Psychological symptoms include a feeling of mistrust and suspicion with everyone around.

Controlling anxiety before the condition goes out of hand is important as this mental condition can eventually take a toll on the physical health of the person. The main factor that has to be addressed here is fear and nervousness. Bringing the mind under control is the key here.

As you recognize the symptoms of anxiety attack, you can follow a few simple techniques to ensure situation does not go out of control. The first step is to stop fighting the symptoms and stop letting fear take control. Grounding involves paying sufficient attention to your body. When you feel the onset of a panic attack, just start noticing how firmly your feet is on the ground and feel the surface where you are standing. Bend your knee and notice the texture and sensations felt by your skin. Identify parts of your body experiencing tension and pain and consciously pay attention to those parts. The feeling of losing mind control will reduce to a great extent with this technique.

Another method of controlling anxiety is to sit with yourself for sometime everyday, reflect and analyze on various aspects of your life. This will reduce the fear of the unknown to a great extent. All this combined with a regular exercise routine and a healthy; balanced diet will help eradicate all symptoms of anxiety.
